England & Wales OPG launches online service for LPA process.

The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) has released a digital service to help people acting as an attorney prove their status to banks, healthcare providers and other interested organisations.  This replaces the current paper-based system which can be a lengthy process.

It is currently only available for LPAs registered from 17th July 2020, although the OPG is working on extending this to earlier LPAs in due course.

With the new system you will be able to create an access code which you can share with other relevant parties.  This will allow them to view a summary of the LPA and authenticate the owner.
