Broadway Bulletin - Winter 2020
Welcome to our Winter newsletter 2020/2021. It feels like we’ve arrived here in a complete blur when reflecting on the events of the last nine months. When looking back at last year’s newsletter, we were just entering a new Conservative Government with a degree of optimism that, finally, change was coming. Boy, have we experienced some change?!
I would have never imagined that we would not be meeting our clients face to face but using video conferencing on a daily basis. Nor would I have expected to be harbouring what I can only describe as “face mask envy” and shopping for such items to complement my outfits…..that nobody sees! However, I am ever the optimist and to follow the previous edition’s musical theme I will quote D:Ream and “things can only get better”. Last week, we saw the first Covid-19 vaccine to be administered in the world which brought the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock (and probably many more), to tears. It does feel that the light at the end of this very long tunnel is starting to brighten.
This edition contains a commentary from one of our investment partners, Chris Warren at Brooks MacDonald, summarising his expectations for markets in 2021. With Brexit talks still not finalised and the impact of Covid-19 not yet fully known, there is every likelihood of ongoing volatility and change during 2021 and beyond. One thing you can be sure of, though, is that we will continue to be here to provide support, advice and guidance through every step of your journey in whatever format we can!
Wishing you all a safe, “ventilated” and Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.
